Continuous snowfall in higher reaches and cold winds sweeping across lower regions kept the weather chilled in Himachal Pradesh today. High reaches of Lahaul and Spiti and Chamba witnessed snowfall till this afternoon. A report from Lahaul and Spiti said that about one foot snow was deposited at Keylong after the snowfall. After the fresh snowfall since yesterday, Rohtang pass, the gateway between Kullu and Lahaul and Spiti was closed for traffic again by the district administration, the report added. The pass situated at a height of 13,050 feet was opened last week by the Border Roads Organisation to help those stranded at Lahaul and Spiti move out from there. Day temperature at ‘Queen of Hills’ was recorded at 16.5 degree Celsius, Met office sources said. Elsewhere Sundernagar registered maximum of 20.1 degree Celsius, while it was 4.4 degree Celsius in Kalpa, the sources added.
