Shimla: Dec 05 2009
The drive to the hill station of Shimla from Chandigarh is going to be more pleasurable from Dec 2010 onwards as the Haryana government has given green signal for the four-laning of the 8-km stretch that connects Manimajra with National Highway No 22.
The journey is bound to get smoother and shorter as bottlenecks make way for a wider road with median in between. Adding to this the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has set the same deadline to wind up four-laning of Kalka-Zirakpur expressway.
This will reduce the time to travel to Shimla by approx 5-10 minutes and will also remove the bottlenecks.
